NEW YORK (AP) — Stocks have turned higher on Wall Street Tuesday as solid gains from big technology companies helped shake off an early loss. The S&P 500 rose 0.4%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.2% and the Nasdaq rose 0.7%. Energy companies made solid gains as oil prices rose. Retailers lagged the market. Target fell after it said it was cancelling orders and slashing prices to clear out inventory, moves that will hurt its profits. Jam maker J.M. Smucker jumped on solid quarterly earnings. Kohl’s rose after the retailer said it’s in advanced talks to sell the company. Treasury yields eased slightly.
