UPDATE
Stickey in Dickey generated raised more than $20,000 for Hospice of the Red River Valley in memory of loved ones who have been cared for by the organization.
The Judges’ Choice winners were: First Place – Herb Carpenter, Bismarck, N.D.; Second Place – Mitch Miller, Adrian, N.D. & Waylon Triepke, Dickey, ND; and Third Place – Greg Peterson, Fargo, N.D.
The People’s Choice winners were: First Place – Brent Carpenter, Jamestown, N.D.; and Second & Third Place was a tie – Thomas Kartes, Dickey, N.D. & Trey Isakson, Dickey, N.D.

Dickey, ND The 13th annual Sweet N’ Sticky in Dickey Rib Cook-off returns the Dickey Bar on Saturday, July 9, starting at 6 p.m. Ribs will be served to the public. Attendees are encouraged to give a free-will donation for a meal. Dickey Bar Facebook Page
Proceeds go to Hospice of the Red River Valley, in memory of those who have passed away, most receiving Hospice care in the community.
The band TrainWrecks will be playing from 6pm – 10pm with awards presented around 8pm.
For a $20 entry fee, interested individuals can enter their tasty recipe in the rib cook-off contest. To learn more, contact Chrissy Kartes at (701) 361-8124. Cooks must provide their own ribs, cooking devices and all other cooking needs. Registration fee includes a Sweet N’ Stickey T-shirt or tank top and serving pans to turn in your finished product to both the People’s Choice and Judge’s Choice.
- Ribs will need to be cooked, cut, and ready to present to judges at or before 5 p.m.
- Participants must provide their own ribs (two or more racks of pork ribs, any cut except baby backs).
- Entrants will need to provide their own ribs, grill/smoker, utensils and cooking items.
- Event organizers will provide electricity (if needed), judging baskets and serving trays.
