NationalWeatherServicelogoBismarck, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Aug 15, 2013) — The lack of moisture in July this year in Jamestown and Stutsman County set an all-time record.

The National Climatic Data Center reports, weather stations in the region reported July as one of the three driest Julys on record. The region ranked as the driest for a July since record keeping began in the 1880s.

Even though July was dry, the area is classified as abnormally dry rather than in a drought.

The dry condition is expected to continue, and most areas of central and eastern North Dakota could stay dry through the first frost.
