Jamestown (CSi) – The Jamestown City Council’s Public Works Committee Thursday recommended approval of a change order regarding an emergency waterline replacement, decreasing the project cost by $9,667.50. City Engineer Travis Dillman. said.
The total project cost was around $581,120,93. Dillman said corrective action needs to be taken on a fence, the final part of the project.
The committee also heard a request from Valley City officials,regarding the possible purchase of three City of Jamestown Solid Waste vehicles.
O’Neill says they haven’t used the trucks in the last five years, but they have been utilized by Valley City.
Mayor Dwaine Heinrich asked if the city could receive for more information, which includes miles and condition of the vehicles to have a “better idea” before making a decision.
The committee moved the request to the city meeting in August without recommendation to get more information on the trucks.
City Engineer Dillman later gave updates on various projects underway in the city, including the Highway 20 mill and overlay project, along with details on the current Mill Hill concrete pavement repair.
It was also pointed out that Water treatment improvements are expected to begin next week.
