Valley City (CSi) Scherbenske Inc has been awarded the bid to remove temp clay levees in Valley City.

Chad Petersen of KLJ engineering told the At Tuesday’s Valley City Commission meeting it was explained that Scherbenske submitted the lowest bid of the two companies who submitted bids.

KLJ’s Petersen said the removal and restoration process should be completed by mid-September weather permitting. He pointed out that local sub-contractors will also be hired by the main contractor for the removal of temporary clay levees.

The contractor has 49 days to complete the project that started August 2, following the approval of the $827,079 bid by the city of Valley City.

He also said Peterson work on the ADA ramps on 12th Street northwest in Valley City continues. He said weather permitting the mill and overlay of the street is tentatively set for August 15.
