On August 27 th , at approximately 2:15 am, a two-vehicle head-on crash occurred on Hwy. 13
MM 374, just east of Barney, ND. a 2009 Toyota Corolla was traveling eastbound on Hwy. 13 and a 2011 Nissan Altima was traveling westbound on Hwy. 13. Near MM 374 they collided head-on on the roadway.
After the collision, the Nissan came to rest on the westbound shoulder. The Nissan was facing
west and was upright. The Toyota came to rest in the north ditch. The Toyota was facing
southeast and was upright.
The driver of the Toyota, Washington Weanquoi, was pronounced dead on scene.
The driver and passenger in the Nissan, Kash Cutler and William Nordine, were both injured in
the crash and were both transported to Sanford Hospital in Fargo for serious injuries.

Barney ND (NDHP) The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports a man is dead and two others were seriously injured after a head-on crash in Richland County early Saturday morning.

AToyota Corolla was traveling eastbound on Highway 13 after 2 AM when it collided head-on with a Nissan Alitma near mile marker 374.

Both vehicles came to rest on different sides of the roadway. The 47 year-old Toyota Driver was pronounced dead on the scene. Two 19 year-old males in the Nissan were seriously injured. They were not wearing their seatbelts. They were transported to Sanford Hospital in Fargo.

The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol. They were assisted by the Richland County Sheriff’s Office, Barney Fire Department, Wyndmere Fire Department, Wyndmere Ambulance, and Breck Ambulance.
