MARSHALL, Minn. (UJ)– The University of Jamestown women’s golf team is in 13th place after the first day of the EverSpring Inn Mustang Invite, hosted by Southwest Minnesota State University at the par 72, 5,969-yard Marshall Golf Club.

DAY ONE RESULTS

Jamestown finished with a team score of 360, eight shots back of 12th place Bemidji State University. Augustana (S.D.) and Chadron State (Neb.) are tied for the team lead with scores of 310.

Haley Malone (SR/Moorhead, Minn.) and Teagan Fee (SR/Havre, Mont.) paced the Jimmie women, each shooting 17-over 89. Kyra Vogel (SO/Jamestown, N.D.) is tied for 62nd at 18-over 90, Coley Olson (JR/Cook, Minn.) is tied for 69th at 20-over 92, and Faith Justesen (JR/Hawley, Minn.) is tied for 73rd at 21-over 93. Annika Reierson of Gustavus Adolphus is the leader at even-par 72.

“It was a disappointing day for everyone,” said UJ head coach Zach Hale. “We just didn’t hit enough good shots and had some trouble calculating the wind. We will put this one in the rearview mirror and look for success tomorrow.”

The tournament concludes Sunday with tee times beginning at 9 a.m. Jamestown’s first tee time will be at 10:12 with Kyra Vogel.
