NDHPpatchValley City, ND (KCSi-T.V. News)  —  The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports a 39-year-old Valley City man died in a single-vehicle rollover crash, at 2:50- a.m.  on  Saturday (Aug 24, 2013)

The accident happened on 119th Avenue,  Southeast,  about  5 miles south of Valley City.   The driver indentified as 39 year old Steven Welken, was traveling southbound when he lost control of the Jeep Wrangler, began to spin, and entered the ditch on the east side of the road and rolled.  The report says he was not wearing a seatbelt, and was ejected from the roof of the vehicle, which continued  to roll on top of and pin the driver.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.

Assisting  the NDHP, were the  Barnes County Sheriif’s Office and the , Valley City Fire Department.

Fox News in Fargo reported that Steve Welken was the president of Grotberg Electric.  
He was very involved at Valley City State University. There are even chairs reserved for him at the basketball arena, where services will be held next week. His wife Erin said his impact was truly widespread.
