Jamestown (UJ) Two new concerts are coming to University of Jamestown in October.

Debora Harris, Associate Professor of Flute at Concordia College, will perform October 13 in the Voorhees Chapel at 7 p.m.

On October 16 at 2 p.m., the Department of Music Faculty at University of Jamestown will present their annual Fall Faculty Recital in the Reiland Fine Arts Center.

Both concerts are free and open to the public.

About Debora Harris

Flutist Debora Harris joined the faculty of Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn., as Associate Professor of Flute in 2001. For the past 25 years, she has served as Principal Flute of the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony and has been a guest soloist with the orchestra. Other orchestral positions include Breckenridge Music Institute in Colorado, Peoria Symphony, and Wausau Symphony.

Since 2009, Harris has been a member of the flute, sax, piano trio, Excelsior! Trio. The Trio has performed concerts throughout the United States, at the World Saxophone Congress in Scotland, the Museo Internazionale delle Ceramiche, in Faenza, Italy, and at the National Flute Association Convention in California.

Performing during the Fall Faculty Recital will be Dr. Aaron McDermid, Associate Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities; Dr. Jason Kihle, Associate Professor of Music and Director of Bands; John Clodfelter, Instructor of Keyboard and Collaborative Arts; Alicia Bollingberg, Performing Arts Recruiter and Outreach Coordinator; and Dr. Richard Walentine, Professor of Music and Department Chair.
