Jamestown (CSi) On October 15th, St. John’s Academy hosted their 32nd annual HOPE Dinner, an annual benefit event to support the students and staff of the school. This year’s dinner raised a
record amount as over $266,000 was received in donations, sponsorships, and in ticket
sales.
Principal Jeff Trumbauer reportsThe dinner featured a social hour, silent and live auction, student entertainment, and livemusic. The auction was once again led by Orr Auctioneers, who have partnered with theAcademy since the event began in 1990. Over 275 people attended, and 42 local businesses provided sponsorship support.
Jeff Trumbauer, principal commented, “I’m continuously amazed at the
support for our school. It takes a community to put together an event of this magnitude
and to accomplish what was accomplished this year. We have a great group of committee
members and volunteers who worked incredibly hard on sponsorships, auction
solicitations, banquet, decorating, set up and clean-up. Our event chairs, Sarah Sankey
and Stacy Anderson do a phenomenal job. The dinner continues to improve under their
leadership.”
Although the final expenses and net income figures are still being tabulated, it is clear the
event was another huge success. Trumbauer stated, “The students and staff of the
Academy are incredibly grateful for the hard work from everyone who helped with the
event and to our generous donors who continue to support the school. Their efforts and
generosity make an enormous difference on the educational experience we provide here
at St. John’s Academy and is a testament that a Christ-centered education has
tremendous value in our community.
