Jamestown (CVHD) Central Valley Health District has announced that it will be closing the community COVID testing center located at the Jamestown Civic Center. The last testing day will be December 29 2022.
CVHD began providing COVID testing in June 2020 with a drive-thru event at the Stutsman County Fairgrounds. Since that time, CVHD has completed nearly 20,000 COVID tests in the community.
CVHD Administrator Robib Iszler says, “During the height of COVID, we were very busy with COVID testing, One of our busiest days was our first-ever drive-thru event where nearly 500 tests were completed in 4 hours.”
Iszler said COVID test kits will still be available for free at various locations in the community including CVHD and all local pharmacies. CVHD will provide free test kits to any businesses, families or schools that are interested in having test kits on hand and encourages anyone to stop by the CVHD office to pick up a free kit. The test kits are easy to use and produce results in 15 minutes. Free test kits are still and will be available at Central Valley Health District and all pharmacies in Jamestown. Rapid PCR tests are also available at Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy for a fee. Those needing official results for travel can contact their local healthcare provider or find other testing options online.
Those who require testing for travel should reach out to their medical provider, or research online for other testing options.
Iszler added businesses who have been sending employees to get tested should also be looking at different options as well.
Central Valley Health also thanked the community, local providers, ND National Guard, State Health Department, and especially the City of Jamestown, and the Civic Center staff for their support and cooperation as they worked through the last 2 years of the pandemic.
Those with questions are encouraged to contact Central Valley Health at 701-252-8130 or visit centralvalleyhealth.org.
