Jamestown (JRMC) – Krista Ames has received the most recent JRMC Legend Award.
The Legend Award is the most prestigious distinction for a JRMC employee. The Legend Award recognizes employees who exceed expectations and are THE difference in the lives of those they serve. Each quarter, JRMC’s 350 employees cast anonymous votes to select each Legend Award winner.
Patient Accounts Clerk Michele Geigle nominated Ames, reimbursement specialist in Patient Financial Services. The nomination states: “Ames is a “walking encyclopedia of knowledge.”
“Krista voluntarily took on several new duties. Her work hours are typically 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. but Krista has been getting up at 4:30 a.m. and working from home, posting the electronic insurance payments. Then she comes into the office at 8 a.m. and tackles all her other job duties while patiently answering everyone’s questions and emails. Krista is a true leader and an employee that we should all strive to be like.”
Victoria Rangel, Patient Financial Services Manager. adds, “Krista is a true asset,” said “I wish I could clone her. We are fortunate to have her on our team. She is the definition of ‘legendary. The purpose of the Legend Award is to inspire, motivate and capture the moments that define JRMC. The goal is to help employees and volunteers connect to the sense of purpose that brought them to the organization. This award is for employees who’ve made extreme efforts to benefit their patients and colleagues.
Once nominated, JRMC employees vote on their favorite nominees and their stories.
JRMC President & CEO, Mike Delfs says, “The nominations inspire staff members to continually be the best, exceed expectations and make THE difference in the lives of those we serve. Krista is so deserving. Because of her, we can better serve our patients and community.”
The Legend Award first began in 2012. Since then, more than 35 individuals have been named Legends and more than 110 employees were nominated.
