Jamestown (UJ) More than 280 University of Jamestown students participated, in the annual Trick-Or-Can Event on October 30 this year, with record breaking numbers.

Collected was nearly 6,000 items to donate to the Community Action Region VI food pantry in Jamestown.

With the need for donations at an all-time high following the temporary closing of the Salvation Army in Jamestown, University of Jamestown was especially grateful to its volunteers and community participants.

Sara Robinson, UJ’s Student Senate Advisor, expressed her gratitude saying, “A massive thank you to our students who participated, our Student Senate who organized the event, and our very generous community. Families across Jamestown will be so blessed by your contributions!”

Trick-Or-Can began at University of Jamestown in 2005. Every year around Halloween, UJ student volunteers walk around the Jamestown community, going door-to-door to ask for donations. This year, donations came in the form of non-perishable food items, personal hygiene supplies, cleaning supplies, pet supplies, and items for babies
