Jamestown (JPD) The City and Jamestown Police Department have been fielding several questions related to a Police Training Exercise which occurred last (Wednesday) evening near downtown Jamestown.
In a statement, Jamestown Police Department, Major Justin Blinsky says, “We would like to clear up any questions or speculation anyone may have.”
The James-Valley Special Operations Team conducted their weekly training Wednesday evening at the former Randy’s Auto building (101 2 Ave SE) near the corner of 2 Avenue Southeast and 1 Street East. The building is currently in the process of being demolished.
Major Blinsky stated, “The James-Valley Special Operations Team took advantage of this opportunity by utilizing the building to practice forced entry tactics into doors, windows, and other parts of the structure. The training was very successful and useful to be able to practice on an existing building and being able to use all types of forced entry tactics. Those tactics did cause minor loud noises for a brief period.”
Major Blinsky that they’re appreciative of the public’s cooperation in allowing the training to occur and encourages the public to follow their Jamestown, ND Police Department Facebook page for future announcements. You can also reach out if you have questions by calling 701-252-1000.
