Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown Public Works Committee reviewed an agreement with the North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality for an inert landfill expansion project.

The inert landfill is facing a storage limit in 2023.

Jamestown City Engineer Travis Dillman said the city is working with the DEQ to make the cell larger and move the road followed by developing plans and specs and then construction for expansion. Construction of a new insert cell is looked at for 2024-25.

A part of the process is the permit modification.

The committee unanimously approved recommendation.
