Jamestown (CSi) North Dakota Highway Patrol, Sgt. Tom Herzig has retired. During a retirement ceremony Tuesday Nov 1, 2022, at the Stutsman County Law Enforcement Center, dozens showed their support.
Herzig got his start as a civilian in 1992 working at the scale in Minot. He attended academy in 1997 and has served through the state Highway Patrol for the last 26 years.
Herzig was presented with the prestigious Meritorious Service medal.
Herzig was also awarded a certificate of appreciation for his state service from 1992 to 2022 signed by Governor Doug Burgum, a retiree badge, and given a shadow box with pieces of his history of service to the NDHP.
Herzig spoke about his diverse experience serving with the state patrol.
He thanked support from the community, NDHP, Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office, Jamestown Police Department, his family, and retired personnel who have worked with him.
