Jamestown (CSi) A grant from the State Library to the James River Valley Library System will allow growth of their Library. Library Directory Joe Rector says the grant will allow them to purchase more items to be checked out of the unique space.
Some of the items to be purchased include a telescope, digital microscope, rock tumblr, coding robots, solar & electric STEM kit, magnetic STEM kit, Snap Circuits, Physics & Engineering STEM kit, and graphing calculator.
The itemswill all be available to checkout from the Library of Things. The library will have programs in the new year to show parents and children how to use them.
Other services provided by the JRVLS include their Talking Books program through the Library of Congress, allowing those who are totally or legally blind to enjoy reading. Rector says it allows for more inclusivity when it comes to using the library.
