Valley City (CSi) The Santa Cops and Kids event was rescheduled and held Monday Dec 19.

Valley City Police Lt. Dana Rustebakke says over the past few years, the shopping event had to be postponed due to the covid pandemic. Officers were paired with a child to shop for themselves and their families. The event helps families who could be going through a hardship such as financial, a traumatic event or the loss of a loved one

Law enforcement officers from Valley City, Lisbon, Barnes County, Ransom County, and the North Dakota Highway Patrol participated on Monday evening.

In addition children and officers were treated to supper at Pizza Corner, then went main to shop at Handy Home and Hardware for their presents
