BISMARCK, N.D. (UJ) — Dawson Sedivec (SO/Cummings, N.D.) and Micah Hoke (SO/Jamestown, N.D.) won events for the Jimmie men’s track and field team at the Marauders Indoor Opener, hosted by the University of Mary.

Sedivec claimed top honors in the weight throw with a top mark of 15.62 meters.
Hoke ran a season-best time of 2 minutes, 3.26 seconds in the 800 meters for first place.
Braeden Knutson (SR/Casselton, N.D.) and Kaden Jensen (FR/New Rockford, N.D.) had two top-seven finishes for Jamestown. Knutson ran a time of 53.53 in the 400 meter dash for fifth place, and clocked a time of 23.71 in the 200 meter dash for sixth place. Jensen was fourth in the high jump (1.81 meters) and seventh in the long jump (6.19 meters).
Connor Smith (SO/Williston, N.D.), Cael Church (FR/Myrtle Point, Ore.), and Bryson Tripp (JR/Jamestown, N.D.) went 3-4-5 in the heptathlon. Smith set a personal best with 3630 points, followed by Church with 3604 and Tripp with 3459.
Other top seven finishers for the Jimmies included Jorden Morales (JR/Phoenix, Ariz.) in the weight throw (15.21m, 4th), Drew Hjelmstad (SO/Maple Grove, Minn.) in the 3000 meters (10:01.32, 5th), and Tyler Dean (SO/Watertown, S.D.) in the shot put (13.84m, 7th).
UJ finished fourth of seven teams with 58 points.
BISMARCK, N.D. (UJ ) — The University of Jamestown women’s track and field team took third of seven teams at the Marauders Indoor Opener, hosted by the University of Mary.

Jamestown amassed 43 points, 22 points ahead of fourth-place Minot State University.
Jordynn Toliver (JR/Box Elder, S.D.) and Quinn Bassingthwaite (FR/Wahpeton, N.D.) had the top finishes for the Jimmie women, each taking second. Toliver racked up 3233 points in the pentathlon, and Bassingthwaite cleared 2.55 meters in the pole vault.
Toliver was fourth in the 400 meter dash (1:04.74) and was joined by Anni Stier (JR/Rugby, N.D.) and Paige Erhardt (SO/Hazen, N.D.) as multiple top-six placers. Stier was third in the 400 meter dash (1:00.70), and sixth in the 200 meter dash (26.69). It was a new lifetime best in the 200 and indoor best in the 400 for Stier. Erhardt was fifth in the long jump (4.74m) and seventh in the 60 meter hurdles (10.39). She set a new PR in the prelims with a time of 10.10 seconds.
Brenna Held (FR/Huron, S.D.) was fourth in the shot put (11.75m), Megan Tietjen (SR/Hastings, Minn.) sixth in the weight throw (12.50m), and Kristina Brossart (JR/Rugby, N.D.) seventh in the 60 meters (8.20).
Women’s Hockey
Chloe Gauthier (FR/Ste. Anne, MB) recorded her first collegiate hat trick, but the fifth-ranked Minot State University Beavers came away with a 7-3 win over the 14th-ranked University of Jamestown women’s hockey team Saturday afternoon at Wilson Arena.
Minot State benefitted from a pair of advantageous rebounds in building a 3-0 lead after one. Megan Norris got things started at 9:39 of the first, then Sydney Spicer scored at 12:01 and 15:53 to increase the lead.
Gauthier had back-to-back goals within the first five minutes of the second to make it a one-score game. Gauthier’s first came at 1:25 on an assist by Mackenzie Couling (FR/Pilot Mound, MB), then the second on a power-play goal at 4:56 from Cambree Martens (FR/Morden, MB).
Gillian Gervin (14:05) and Jordan Kulbida (15:21) helped the Beavers retake their three-goal lead. Kulbida’s goal came on the power play, the lone Minot State goal with the extra skater advantage.
At 7:13 of the third, Gauthier completed the hat trick with her second power play goal of the game. Couling notched her second assist as the Jimmies cut the deficit to 5-3.
Aspen Cooper and Olivia Opheim scored at 9:39 and 14:50, respectively, to put the game out of reach. Minot State held a slight 41-35 edge in shots.
Lilah Drew (FR/Bolton, ON) made 34 saves for UJ while Hali Lawrence had 32 stops for the Beavers.
The Jimmies are back in action on January 8, hosting Adrian College at 12 p.m.
