Jamestown (Parks & Rec) Warming houses have opened in Jamestown at the Bunker and McElroy and Meidinger parks.
Jamestown Parks and Recreation announced Monday, December 26 that regular warming house hours are from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Hours will be extended to 1 to 5:30 p.m. during the school holiday break from Tuesday through Monday, Dec. 27 through Jan. 2.
Warming houses will not open if the outdoor temperature or wind chill is minus 15 or below.
Warming houses are at::
- The Bunker, 1520 3rd Stree Southeast, where there is a sledding hill.
- McElroy Park, 1000 block and 2nd Avenue Southeast, where the ice hockey/skating rink and groomed cross-country ski trails are. Rentals are available for $5 for boots and skis.
- Meidinger Park, 10th Street and 17th Avenue Southwest, where there is a skating rink.
