Jamestown (JPD) Just before 3 pm on Tuesday, January 10, Jamestown Police attempted to stop a U-Haul truck driven by a female with a suspended license in the area of the 800 block of 9th Street Southeast.

Major Justin Blinsky reports that the U-Haul attempted to flee the traffic stop, eventually coming to a stop in the 900 block of 9th Street Southeast. The female driver jumped out of the truck and ran from the officer.

Police set up a perimeter in the area to find the driver. Information from witnesses and footprints led officers to a residence in the 900 block of 11th Avenue Southeast. Officers found the female hiding in a basement closet of the home.

The female driver is identified as 32-year-old Ashley Nicole Maragos of Jamestown.

Maragos was arrested on suspicion of driving while license suspended, reckless driving, fleeing or attempting to elude a peace officer in a motor vehicle, and failure to halt. She was taken to Stutsman County Corrections.
