Jamestown (JFD) The Jamestown City Fire Department responded to a report of smoke in a residence Friday evening, Jan. 27, at 6:28 p.m. at 703 1st St. West.
The report said, when the residents came home, they walked into a house full of smoke, had no idea where it was coming from.
The Units found the smoke dissipating in the home. Cigarettes that were believed to be extinguished were being emptied into a trash can were the likely source of the smoke. The fire in the trash can extinguished itself.
Twenty-three firefighters with five units responded.
There was no damage, and firefighters cleared the scene around 7:03 p.m.
