Feb 13, 2023 will mark 40 years since that tragic day, Feb 13, 1983, when a shoot-out north of Medina left 2 dead and several wounded.
During the days that followed, CSi Videographers & Reporters assisted the National media that arrived to cover the story that held national attention. From providing exclusive video footage to running edited stories to waiting airplanes to the nearest video uplink, the CSi team was in the background of the breaking news. Video is the raw video from the CSi TV archives.
More Story:
Two days after the Medina tragedy, a force of approximately 100 law enforcement personnel made up of representatives of the U.S. Marshals Service, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and State and local agencies converged on the Kahl family farmhouse near Heaton, North Dakota, where they turned up a large quantity of arms and ammunition – but the elusive Gordon Kahl was still not to be found. By then five suspects in the killings had been arrested, including Kahl’s wife and wounded son, but the father continued to elude the massive manhunt.
The program contains interviews with Federal Marshals and FBI agents, as well as press conferences updating the news media and the final comments as the operations shut down in ND.
It will air again soon on CSi TV 10 – The Replay Channel
