Roosevelt Elementary Parent-Teacher Organization hosted a contest among students to collect pop tops for the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Each class collected pop tops for a few months. At the end, the class with the most pounds won. Mrs. Offner’s kindergartners were the big winners with 29.1 pounds. They won a movie day with Bison 6 Cinema popcorn. Overall, the R-PTO was able to drop off over 100 pounds of pop tops to Ronald McDonald House Charities at the end of the program.

This is the second year the R-PTO has hosted the contest. The program started as a way for students to learn about service and helping others in the community. The program’s intent really hit home when fellow Roosevelt Raider, Keaton Sundeen and his family needed services provided by the Ronald McDonald House Charities this past year.
