On the April 3 and 11:45pm, a Chevrolet Silverado was Westbound on Hwy 2, when the Driver lost control of vehicle due to ice on the roadway, entered the median, and overturned. The driver and both occupants were ejected as none of them were using seatbelts. One juvenile came to rest on the roadway, where she was subsequently struck by an empty truck tractor/semi-trailer.
The other juvenile came to rest in the median. Both juveniles were pronounced deceased on scene. Driver was transported by EMS with serious injuries.
The name of the driver will be released at a later time.
This Crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
In Williston, ND
On the April 3 and 8:17pm, a 2004 Silver Dodge Ram 1500 was traveling East on 57th St NW. The Dodge approached a marked railroad crossing (no arms). The Dodge failed to yield to the Amtrak Train coming from Williston going to Stanley. The Amtrak train collided with the Dodge, pushing the Dodge down the train tracks for a short distance before the dodge was pushed off the tracks.
The Dodge was occupied by 3 males. 17-year-old male driver in critical condition that was transferred to Minot Trinity Hospital, a 15-year-old male passenger pronounced dead on scene, and a 17-year-old male passenger pronounced dead at Williston CHI due extent of injuries sustained in the crash.
This Crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
In Williams County
A 2016 Volvo semi loaded with frac sand was traveling eastbound on highway 1804 approximately mm 290 the semi pulled into an approach on the North side attempting to turn around. The semi than backed across Highway 1804 to another approach on the South side.
As the semi was getting turned around onto the highway to go back West, the male driver of a 2017 GMC Sierra, traveling Eastbound, struck the side of the semi-trailer. The driver and passenger of the GMC Sierra were transported by Tioga Ambulance to Tioga Medical Center. The Driver was later transported to Trinity in Minot due to his serious injuries sustained in the crash. The Passenger is being treated at Tioga Medical Center for his injuries.
The female driver of the Semi was not injured in the crash.
This crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
