Jamestown, ND, (JRMC) March 30, 2023 —Difference Makers at Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) raised more than $36,000 for patient care last month.

The GreatFUL! Employee Giving Campaign demonstrates employees’ gratitude for each other and their commitment to caring for patients. In 27 years, JRMC employees have raised more than $940,700 during Employee Giving. This year, 91 employees raised $36,781.

Donations support cancer care, hospice, equipment and technology, infant loss and bereavement, Family BirthPlace, the Employee Support Fund, Kala’s Korner and the Greater JRMC Fund – the hospital’s greatest needs fund.

Patient Accounts Clerk Bonnie Dewald said she gives because she is proud of JRMC and its state-of-the-art equipment.

“I feel blessed to be able to give back. This hospital is supported by a huge community effort and I want and need it to be here for years to come,” she said.

Outpatient Coder Cindy Kleven said she donates because JRMC is a great facility.

“I want people to have this facility for when the need arises,” she said.

Previous staff gifts named the medication room and the staff break room in the JRMC Cancer Center. They purchased equipment like vein lights, germ-zapping robots, surgical equipment, a fetal heart monitoring system and the emergency FAST ultrasound.

“One hundred percent of every gift supports patients in ways they can see and feel,” said JRMC Foundation Director Lisa Jackson. “They are the reason JRMC is a destination for care in the region. Our dedicated and talented teams allow JRMC to provide legendary care close to home.”

This support is important, said JRMC President & CEO Mike Delfs, because it demonstrates how invested employees are in the care they offer patients.

“Every day, a life is changed because of our teamwork at JRMC,” he said. “These gifts show how proud employees are of the care our teams provide. With their generosity, employee donors live their calling to be THE difference in the lives of those we serve.”

Employees are why care at JRMC is award-winning, he said. For the tenth year in a row, the National Rural Health Association named it a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital out of 1,300. In 2022, JRMC received regional and national Best Place to Work awards.

“We’ve made great progress since we moved to this location 11 years ago – from limited specialty services to a comprehensive team of specialists including ear, nose & throat, OB/GYN, orthopedics, podiatry, urology and wound care. This is only possible because of our Difference Makers,” Delfs said.
