Jamestown, ND – Join JVRA’s board to discuss what FIRST Robotics currently looks like in the James Valley region. THURSDAY, APRIL 27, 2023 AT 6:30 PM at the Jamestown High School Library

The group will discuss the needs and benefits of the program and how we can proceed with offering the program to local school districts.

Combining the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology. The FIRST Robotics Competition the ultimate Sport for the Mind. High-school student participants call it “the hardest fun you’ll ever have.”

Under strict rules, limited time and resources, teams of students are challenged to raise funds, design a team “brand,” hone teamwork skills, and build and program industrial-size robots to play a difficult field game against like-minded competitors. It’s as close to real-world engineering as a student can get. Volunteer professional mentors lend their time and talents to guide each team. Each season ends with an exciting FIRST Championship.

They offer free participation to students, grades 8-12 from districts around the Jamestown area. This includes students from the following school districts; Jamestown Public Schools, Montpellier Public Schools, Medina School District, Pingree-Buchanan Public Schools, Gackle-Streeter Public School, Litchville-Marion School District, Valley City Public School District, & Midkota Public School.
