Dennis Gates of Jamestown, was traveling east bound on Hwy 11 in Dickey County. As Gates neared MM 60 the vehicle, he was operating a 2013 Chevy Silverado had a mechanical failure. Gates failed to stay on the roadway and entered the south ditch of Hwy 11. Gates was not wearing his seatbelt, and due to the steep decline of the ditch Gates struck his head against the interior area of the Silverado while traveling down the ditch. The Silverado came to rest in the south ditch without any damage. Gates sustained serious but none-life threatening injuries from striking his head, and was life flighted to a Hospital in Aberdeen, SD. This crash remains under investigation by the NDHP.
