Sioux Center, IA — Jordynn Toliver took first place in the javelin throw and Anni Stier qualified for nationals in the 400m hurdles as the Jimmie women’s track and field team concluded the GPAC Championships on Saturday.
Toliver’s best mark of 39.36m was just under her national-qualifying mark of 39.88m from the USD Early Bird on April 7. She will compete in both the javelin and heptathlon at the NAIA National Championships in Marion, Ind., May 24-26.
Joining Toliver at nationals will be Anni Stier. Stier ran a new personal-best time of 64.18 in the 400m hurdles to place fourth while meeting the provisional time standard.
Paige Erhardt had two top-eight finishes, claiming seventh in the high jump with a height of 1.55m, a new personal best; and finishing eighth in the javelin (34.39m).
As a team, Jamestown finished with 18 points, tied for eighth place with College of Saint Mary (Neb.)
