Jamestown, ND (CSi) With the recent rains, a large sink hole has expanded in the parking lot between the new Taco John’s and Apple Bees.

Tyler Michel, Public Works Director reports the sinkhole was reported Thursday morning. It was caused by a 96 inch storm sewer pipe that failed as it was flowing a large amount of water through it.

The City Council is meeting early next week to determine the next steps in the repair. Timeline for repair depends on securing the material to repair and a contractor to do the work. 

People should stay outside of the closed off areas is the best information for the public.
