Present: Buchanan, Steele, Heinrich, Schloegel, Geroux, Hellekson, Dillman, Edinger, Laber, Lipetzky,Michel, O’Neill, Rowell, and Sveum. Absent: Kamlitz
POLICE & FIRE COMMITTEE
Chair Buchanan convened the meeting at 4:00 p.m.
Chief Edinger provided information regarding the Crisis and Negotiation and Medical Director members of the James-Valley Special Operations Team during training and response and when not reimbursed through the Association of Counties. Administrator Hellekson stated that the Jamestown share is in the 2024 budget. Schloegel requested the item be placed on the July committee meeting.
Mayor Heinrich adjourned the meeting at 4:09 p.m.
PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE
Chair Steele convened the meeting at 4:09 p.m.
City Engineer Dillman provided an update on the Emergency Declaration related to the 96” Storm Sewer from 25th street to the south.
Assistant City Attorney Geroux provided information concerning the only Biosolid Field Tank & Injector bid for the Sewer Department that occurred earlier in the day. There was a fatal flaw in the bid document. Upon research, Assistant City Attorney Geroux recommended the City Council hold a special meeting to reject the bid and upon rejection direct the city staff to obtain a quote from the only company that submitted a bid. Geroux stated the City Code Section 2-6 allows the City Council, with a 75% vote, to forego the formal bidding process and request a quote.
Schloegel moved to recommend the City Council reject the bid submitted by Nuhn Industries for the Biosolid Field Tank & Injector for the Sewer Department at a special City Council meeting to be held Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at 4:00 P.M. Seconded by Buchanan. Unanimous aye vote. Carried.
Heinrich moved to recommend the City Council take other action as necessary. Seconded by Schloegel. Unanimous aye vote. Carried.
City Engineer Dillman reviewed the project updates.
Chair Steele adjourned the meeting at 4:46 p.m.
