BISMARCK, N.D. – Black Hills Trucking notified state agencies that a 150-barrel (6,300-gallon) crude oil spill occurred due to a hauler truck accident on July 3. The incident occurred about 10 miles northwest of Ray in Williams County. The oil release was contained to a road ditch. Personnel from the North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality will oversee the cleanup and remediation. Federal and state laws require that operators report the spillage of any materials that may pollute water, air or soil.
