Jamestown – The University of Jamestown football team was picked seventh in the 2023 GPAC Preseason Coaches Poll, announced by the conference office on Monday.
UJ received 38 points, two more than eighth-place Doane (Neb.) and eight more than ninth-place Mount Marty (S.D.)
Northwestern (Iowa), the defending NAIA national champion, was the preseason pick to win the conference. The Red Raiders received eight first-place votes and 98 points overall. Morningside (Iowa) was second with 93 points and three first-place votes, while Dordt (Iowa) was third with 78 points. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own teams.

Jamestown begins the season with a non-conference game at Valley City State (N.D.) on August 24, and will host Concordia (Neb.) in the home opener on September 9.
