The University of Jamestown women’s volleyball team sits in the top spot of the NAIA Preaseason Coaches’ Poll, released Wednesday by the national office.

UJ, the defending national champions, claimed 18 of 19 first place votes. Corban (Ore.) received the other first place vote and is second the poll. Eastern Oregon, Concordia (Neb.), and Northwestern (Iowa) make up the rest of the top five.

Seven Great Plains Athletic Conference teams landed in the top 25, including Midland (Neb.), Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.), College of Saint Mary (Neb.), and Hastings (Neb.)

The Jimmies open the season on Friday against Texas Wesleyan University in San Antonio, Texas.
