The Jamestown Police Department wants to notify Jamestown residents regarding a new high risk sex offender who is residing within the city of Jamestown.

25 years of age, Austin James Hamnes, is living at 403 1st Ave N #3  Jamestown, ND 58401, he has no vehicle.

Hamnes is 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 275 pounds, and has Hazel eyes and brown hair.

Mr. Hamnes has been assigned a high-risk assessment by the North Dakota risk level committee, Office of the Attorney General.

Offense: GSI – Sexual Contact – Victim < 15. When Hamnes was 19 years old, he touched a 9-year-old male’s private area over his clothes. 

Conviction Date: 07/26/2018 in Burleigh County District Court. 

Disposition: 20 years; first serve 5 years; 186 days credit; 5 years supervised probation. 

Hamnes is not wanted by police at this time and has served the sentence imposed by the court. This notification is meant for public safety and not to increase fear in the community, nor should this information be used to threaten, assault or intimidate the offender. Attempts to harass, intimidate or threaten these offenders or their families, landlords or employers will be turned over for prosecution.
