UJ -North Sioux City, SD – The 17th-ranked University of Jamestown women’s volleyball team finished play at the United Sports Academy Labor Day Classic with a sweep of Kansas Wesleyan University Saturday afternoon. Set scores were 25-23, 25-16, 25-13.
Jamestown (6-5 overall) begins GPAC play next Friday at Northwestern (Iowa) College with a 7:30 PM match time.

After fending off a late first-set rally by KWU, the Jimmies hit an even .500 over the final two sets to complete the sweep of the Coyotes.
Lexi Olson and Aleah Zieske both had 10 kills, while Logan Sherman and Peyton Wilson each added eight. Olson (.667) and Sherman (.571) each went error-free, while Wilson hit .400 with only two errors.
Lilly Bertsch posted a double-double of 19 assists and 11 digs, and Paige Oswald passed out 18 assists. Ellie Holen had 14 digs and joined Megan Moser with a pair of service aces.
UJ outhit KWU .378 to .107, had a 47-40 edge in digs, and had 15 total blocks to the Coyotes’ three.

The Jimmies had their four-match winning streak snapped in Saturday’s first match. The Trojans defeated UJ 25-16, 25-18, 18-25, 25-23.
DSU narrowly outhit Jamestown, .204 to .201, and had a 54-49 advantage in kills.
Aleah Zieske set a new career-high with 19 kills and recorded a double-double with 13 digs. Lily Bertsch also had a double-double of 18 assists and 15 digs.
Ellie Holen led the defense with 33 digs and passed out a season-high six assists. Lexi Olson had seven total blocks.
