Jamestown ND – The City of Jamestown is looking to purchase several properties in SW Jamestown, at the former Titan Machinery location. At the Tuesday September 5 council meeting – now replaying on CSi 67 – Mayor Heinrich said the Melland family has agreed to sell land in Southwest Jamestown for $900,000. The City Attorney was authorized to prepare a draft purchase agreement.

In the August Finance and Legal Meeting, it was discussed by Mayor Dwaine Heinrich, to acquire the properties at 1604 & 1620 8th Ave SW and 1509 9th Ave SW, including the existing building, as a possible new future Public Safety facility location.

The Council then directed city staff to create plans for City owned property at Railroad Drive East (formally LeFevre Sales), including the demolition of buildings and leaving a 265 x 65 foot storage building to be remodeled. Estimated costs are about $437,000.

The City of Jamestown currently is using the 265 x 65 foot building for storage. The attached smaller building will be demolished. The rest of the property then would be sold.
