The Jamestown Police Department wants to notify Jamestown residents regarding a new high risk sex offender who is residing within the city of Jamestown.

70 years of age, Carl Aubury Harmon III, resides at 804 9th Ave SE Jamestown, ND 58401, he has no vehicle.

Harmon is 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 220 pounds, and has brown eyes and brown hair.

Mr. Harmon has been assigned a high-risk assessment by the North Dakota risk level committee, Office of the Attorney General.

Offense: Gross Sexual Imposition – Harmon lured a 16-year-old female to his home under the false pretense that he wanted her to babysit for him. Once she arrived, Harmon blindfolded her and led her out to a barn. Harmon bound her hands with rope, gagged her, and engaged in sexual acts with the girl while holding a knife to her face. The assault lasted approximately 5 hours.

Conviction Date:  08/01/1996 in Williams County District Court. 

Disposition:  30 years; 10 years suspended for 5 years; 5 years supervised probation.

Mr. Harmon is on GPS monitoring.

Harmon is not wanted by police at this time and has served the sentence imposed by the court. This
notification is meant for public safety and not to increase fear in the community, nor should this
information be used to threaten, assault or intimidate the offender. Attempts to harass, intimidate or
threaten these offenders or their families, landlords or employers will be turned over for prosecution.
