The University of Jamestown baseball team wrapped up the fall portion of its schedule with a 12-4 win over Dickinson State (N.D.) University Saturday afternoon at Jack Brown Stadium, improving their record to 8-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Jordan Singleton hit a two-run double and Hayden Brown followed with a two-run home run in the bottom of the third as Jamestown pushed their lead to 5-0.
  • DSU got one run back in the top of the fifth, but after Singleton singled with one out in the bottom of the fifth, Brown connected for his second homer of the game as the Jimmies went ahead 7-1.
  • Varen Sabino led off the bottom of the sixth with a pinch-hit home run and Burke singled in Alva, who had previously reached on an error to make it 9-1.
  • The Blue Hawks hit a pair of home runs in the top of the eighth to add three runs to the scoreboard, but the Jimmies countered with three of their own in the bottom half.
  • Ben Patton reached on an error by the pitcher to score Julian Sansores and advance Jackson Bonneville to third. Alva followed with a ground out to second, scoring Bonneville and moving Patton to third, then one out later Triston Madison doubled home Patton for the final UJ run.
