October 3rd at 1:50pm, Jose Roman was driving a Volvo semi-truck in the left lane of eastbound I-94 between Veterans Blvd and the 45th street exit. Aaron Halstad was operating a Ford Fusion in the right lane of I-94 at this same location. Halstad begin to pass Roman, and then suddenly made a lane change into the left lane prior to overtaking Roman. This caused The Volvo truck to strike the driver’s side of the Ford. The Ford entered the east ditch of I-94. No injuries resulted from the crash. Halstad was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash and was arrested for misdemeanor DUI and DUI refusal. This crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
