Bismarck – The Valley City State golf teams concluded the fall season at the Marauder Fall Invite Monday and Tuesday. The 36-hole tournament was played at the par-72 Hawktree Golf Course in Bismarck.

The Viking men carded a 348 in the opening round and improved its team score by 27 strokes in the final round to fire a 321 and total a 669 in the tournament. VCSU moved up two spots Tuesday to secure an eighth place finish out of 10 teams.

All of VCSU’s men lowered their individual scores in the final round of the tournament which concluded Tuesday afternoon. Grant Inniger led VCSU’s men and finished in the Top 25 with a 157 (79-78), followed by Owen Haase who carded a 161 (86-75) after lowering his opening-round score by 11 strokes in the final round.

Zach St. Aubin also improved his score by 11 strokes Tuesday to card a 173 (92-81). Wyatt Meisch carded a 178 (91-87) and Henrik Jacobsen finished with a 211 (109-102).

Chase Gedak of Minot State won medalist honors after firing a 1-under-par 143 at the tournament.

Alexandria Tech won the men’s title with a 594 (293-301) team score, edging Minot State by just one stroke.

On the women’s side, VCSU carded a two-day 787 (378-409) to finish in sixth place out of seven teams. Sydney Carlson paced the Vikings with an eighth-place finish after firing a 170 (86-84).

Sydney Staus chipped in a 195 (94-101) and Winter Oldrock carded a 198 (92-106). Paige Hulm finished with a 224 (106-118), and Amber Knutson added a 263 (130-133) for the Vikings.

Carrie Carmichael of UMary won the individual title with a 152 (73-79), while Minot State won the team title after firing a 647 (331-316).
