On October 9 at 1:26pm, North Dakota Department of Transportation workers were actively working on patching a section of eastbound US Highway 2, near mile marker 297. Two workers were outside of their vehicle patching the roadway. One worker, Slettebak, was driving the International 7600 Plow Truck in the right lane. The International 4000, driven by Pike, was eastbound on US Highway 2 when it struck an unoccupied NDDOT pickup truck, a worker patching the roadway, additional patching equipment, and the International 7600, prior to entering the median, where it came to rest.
Injured parties were transported to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks by Lakota and Michigan Ambulance Services.
This crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
