The Jamestown Police Department wants to notify Jamestown residents regarding a new high risk sex offender who is residing within the city of Jamestown.

35 years of age, Andrew Lamar Mayes, homeless, he has no vehicle.

Mayes is black, 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing 250 pounds, and has brown eyes and black hair.

Mr. Mayes has been assigned a high-risk assessment by the North Dakota risk level committee, Office of the Attorney General.

Offense: Gross Sexual Imposition – when Mayes was 27 years old, he had sexual contact with a 7 year old female.

Conviction Date:  11/18/2016 in Richland County District Court. 

Disposition:  5 years; 285 days credit; 5 years supervised probation.

Mayes is not wanted by police at this time and has served the sentence imposed by the court. This
notification is meant for public safety and not to increase fear in the community, nor should this
information be used to threaten, assault or intimidate the offender. Attempts to harass, intimidate or
threaten these offenders or their families, landlords or employers will be turned over for prosecution.
