The Jimmies and the Comets kept a close game the first half. The largest lead was held by the Jimmies six minutes into play (14-8).
The Comets quickly responded with a 10-3 run to lead 18-17. Points were tight the next seven minutes as the teams fought to take the lead.
With 6:25 on the clock, the Comets took a lead of 26-24 and managed to keep it to end the half ahead 40-37.
With 15 points, 12 of them coming from outside the arc, Silas Bennion discouraged the Comets from gaining a lead of more than five in the first half. Cole Woodford and Colby Vazquez contributed with two threes each.
Another Bennion three started the Jimmies points in the second half. Will Cordes hit a jumper and tagged on two threes, and Antonio Chandler put up two to help the team lead 50-44.
Will Cordes put up a third three to extend the Jimmie’s lead to eight. The Comets did not see a lead the rest of the game.
The game got tight with 1:00 on the clock as the Comets trailed 71-72. A Woodford three and Cordes steal leading to free throws put the Jimmies out of reach and they took the home win 77-73.
FOR THE JIMMIES
- Silas Bennion led the team with 23 points. He made 8-13 field goals, 5-7 threes, and 2-2 free throws.
- Will Cordes, Cole Woodford, and Colby Vazquez followed up with 13, 11, and 10 points, respectively.
- Jimmy Llinas grabbed eight rebounds and Antonio Chandler grabbed seven.
- The Jimmies had a total of 13 threes in the game, shooting 48.1%.
FOR THE COMETS
- Jamison Kramer led with 27 points and 7 rebounds.
