Valley City – This past April, a Jamestown man, Giles Yazzie, was arrested for an incident with the Valley City Police.

Officers had responded to a call where they found Yazzie uncooperative and arrested him for disorderly conduct. Yazzie spit on one officer and injured another officer.

On October 10th 2023, Judge Jay Schmitz ordered Yazzie to serve 90 days in jail. Yazzie had already served 17 days. The court also fined him $560 in court fees.

On Jan 2, 2024, Yazzie entered the Barnes County Jail to serve the rest of his sentence.
