On January 12 at approximately 8:15am , a Honda Odyssey was traveling northbound on Interstate 29 near mile .5 at Exit 1 (Dakota Magic Casino). The Honda left the roadway to the right and struck a road closed barricade post. The vehicle then entered the east ditch and came to rest upon impacting two supports of a highway sign.

The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver is identified as Terry Pierson of
Fargo, ND .

The investigation has revealed that the crash occurred around 0300 hours. The crash was not
reported to law enforcement by a passerby until around 0815 hours.
