NDHP – On January 31st at 8:21pm a 1996 Ford Explorer driven by James Feeley, was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of Highway 2 near mile marker 147 when it struck an eastbound 2008 Toyota Yaris driven by Tyanna Weeks, head on. Both vehicles sustained major front end damage. The Ford came to rest in the painted gore area of the road and the Toyota came to rest in the turn lane. Feeley, the driver of the Ford, an 18 year old male from Minot, sustained serious non-life threatening injuries and was transported via ambulance to Trinity Hospital. The driver of the Toyota, Weeks, an 18 year old female from Minot, sustained serious life threatening injuries and was transported via ambulance to Trinity Hospital.

On scene investigation revealed that the driver of the Ford was under the influence and in possession of narcotics. The driver, the 18 year old male from Minot, was subsequently arrested for Criminal Vehicular Injury, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
