Valley City – The Barnes County Historical Society Lecture Series Season 23 Presents: “Wes Anderson’s 16mm Film Fest #2” 7 PM Thursday, February 15th at the Barnes County Museum. (315 Central Ave N. Valley City, ND)
We had so much fun for the January segment of Season 23, Barnes County Museum Curator, Wes Anderson, has again agreed to present a second evening of historic 16mm Movies! The museum has amassed a small collection of mid to late-20th-century 16-millimeter educational movies covering a varying range of topics from National and International Politics to Science, Cold War, Vietnam, environmental issues, social issues, and health. We will be firing up the old 16mm projector (we hope not literally) and, for those who remember Mr. Weiss’ class at the Valley City High School, reliving the days of about 50 years ago (give or take) when the world was a different place seen flickering on the screen at the front of the classroom. Fresh Buttered Popcorn and Homemade root beer by Lewie Legge will be served, (memberships and donations welcome). This presentation is brought to you by Fidelity Savings and Loan of Valley City!
Wes Anderson has been the curator for the Barnes County Museum since 1997 and this is his 12 or 13th presentation for the series…. he’s lost count…It might be 14! A graduate of Valley City State University, he is also the director of the Valley City State University Planetarium since 2002.
The public is cordially invited
All Lectures are at the Barnes County Historical Society Museum and held in conjunction with Valley City State University. They are free and open to the public.
