John Weber, 72, Eckelson, ND, passed away at Sanford Hospital in Fargo Feb 24, 2024. Visitation will be Tues Feb 27 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sanborn, ND. The prayer service will begin at 7:00 with the praying of the Rosary. Wednesday, February 28, the funeral Mass will be held at the church at 10:30 AM. The services will be live streamed, then archived, on a link provided along with his obituary on his tribute page at www.lerudmathias.com. An online guestbook is available there as well. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Sanborn.
John Francis Weber was born December 22, 1951, in Valley City, ND (along with his twin, Joseph) to Jake and Margaret (Hoffart) Weber. He grew up in the Eckelson, ND area in Mansfield Township attending Eckelson School for most of his schooling. In 1970, he graduated from Barnes County North High School and went on to attend NDSCS in Wahpeton, ND.
He and Joe returned to the family farm and raised dairy cattle for many years. He worked at Cavendish for 6 years and then John Deere Seeding in Valley City for 14, retiring in 2017.
John was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sanborn and was very active in 4H. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to auctions. He had a love for horses, but an even bigger love for Oliver tractors. John and Joe enjoyed their trips to Rolag and to We Fest. While attending school in Wahpeton, he boxed in the city league in the 105 division. He was an avid NDSU Bison fan.
John is survived by his twin brother, Joe and brother, Raymond (Joan); sister, Mary (Gary) Gover; brother-in-law, Terry Gruchalla; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wally; sister, Ramona Gruchalla; and an infant brother.
