Wednesday March 6th at 1pm The Alzheimer’s Association is holding a meeting on “Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia” at SMP Health – Ave Maria. Family and community Members are welcome.

Alzheimer’s is not normal aging. It’s a disease of the brain that causes problems with the memory, thinking and behavior.

The topics covered in this meeting are:

  • The difference between Alzheimer and dementia
  • Alzheimer’s disease stages and risk factors
  • Current research and treatments available to address some symptoms
  • What are some healthy habits we can all implement into our lifestyles
  • Positive communication strategies working with common behaviors
  • Highlights from the latest research
  • Alzheimer’s Association resources
  • Questions and answers – discussion time
